About the festival


  • To expose aspects of Yoruba culture to a global audience

Yoruba Drum Festival is a project of Intro Afrika, an art firm co-founded by Ayodele Ganiu to promote intercultural relations by showcasing African cultures to global audiences through music and other artistic productions.

Brief History

The initial project concept of YDF was developed by Ayodele Ganiu in December 2009 at the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy (ICD), Berlin in Germany. As an ICD Academy alumnus, Ayodele worked in consultation with Katharina Muller (former MD of ICD), Mark Donfried (ICD Founder), Aare Lekan Amida (President of Egbe Omo Oduduwa Berlin e.V) and Mr Ayodele L. Ayodeji, (former Minister, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Germany).
